The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Essikado-Ketan, Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue, has voiced strong support for the ongoing peace mediation efforts in Bawku led by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, urging all Ghanaians to set aside political differences in the interest of national unity.

Speaking on The Forum, Bissue called for bipartisan commitment to peace in the conflict-prone area, stating that national stability should take precedence over political affiliations. "We should not say because Akufo-Addo started it, we won't support it.

This is about national peace, not politics," he emphasized.

He further expressed concern over the infiltration of politics by violence, citing instances where parliamentary hopefuls allegedly recruit thugs from conflict zones like Bawku to bolster their campaigns. "In this country, somebody who wants to go to parliament employs thugs from Bawku.
