Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has called on the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity as they steer the country's media landscape through increasingly complex times.

Sharing the message on her official Facebook page on Sunday, July 12, the Vice President revealed she represented President John Dramani Mahama at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected GJA National Executive on Friday, July 11. "On Friday, the 11th of July, I had the honour of representing His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected National Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA)," she wrote.

In her remarks at the ceremony, Prof Opoku-Agyemang emphasized the crucial role journalism plays in shaping democratic values and supporting an informed society. "I highlighted the critical role of journalism in deepening our democracy and shaping an informed society.
