Public health experts at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have raised alarm over the poor air quality in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, following the recent fire outbreak at Adum.
They warned that prolonged exposure to the polluted air near the fire scene could lead to severe respiratory infections in the coming days, as toxic pollutants have significantly increased due to the blaze.
Research shows that Ghana ranks among the top three countries globally with the worst air quality.
