The management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially declared two of its former students persona non grata, prohibiting them from entering the university's premises and from presenting themselves as current students of KNUST.

According to the institution, the two individuals: Ransford Fosu-Boateng, who was dismissed on March 21, 2022, and Raphael Appiah Owusu, dismissed during the 2023/2024 academic year due to poor academic performance, were recently involved in incidents of vandalism and violence on the university campus.

The university further stated that the two individuals had repeatedly gained unauthorised access to university halls while posing as students, using this opportunity to harass fellow students and engage in acts of indiscipline. "The Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially declared Mr Ransford Fosu-Boateng (alias Scammer Baby) and Mr Raphael Appiah Owusu persona non grata on the university campus.

Mr Fosu-Boateng was dismissed from the University on 21st March 2022, while Mr Appiah Owusu's dismissal took effect at the close of the 2023/2024 academic year. "Despite their removal from the university's roll, both individuals have persistently and unlawfully infiltrated the university's residential halls, engaging in disruptive conduct, harassing students and committing acts of indiscipline that compromise campus security and order," the institution said in a press release dated April 11, 2025.
