The Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, has commended President John Mahama for his steadfast commitment to restoring lasting peace in Bawku.
He reaffirmed the Mamprugu Kingdom's full support for the mediation efforts led by the Asantehene and urged the youth to exercise restraint and refrain from acts of violence.
These remarks were made during a press conference held at the Nayiri Palace in Nalerigu.
Bawku has recently been in the spotlight due to ongoing insecurity and violent clashes between the Mamprusi and Kusasi communities.
