Residents of Samsam, located in the Ga West Municipality, have voiced serious concerns about the deteriorating state of roads in the area, which they stated has disrupted transportation, affected livelihoods, and threatened access to essential services.
Frustration is growing among community members, who say the deteriorating road network is making commuting harder and hindering productivity, especially in the education sector.
Abigail, a teacher who has been living in the town for the past three years, speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Friday, April 11, described the situation as unbearable. "I have lived here for three years.
In this town our roads are very bad and due to that we find it difficult to get a car to our workplace and that affects us. "Most of the teachers who are posted here resist staying in the community due to the poor nature of the road, resulting in difficulties in getting a car, and that affects productivity in the education sector in the school as well. "We are pleading on the government to put the road into good shape for us so that we can have the empathy and the energy to work in the area." Commercial drivers in Samsam echoed similar sentiments, citing the impact on their operations.
