President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to launch the Home Ownership Scheme, specifically designed for personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces.
He made this revelation at the Ghana Military Academy Graduation, Regular Career Course 63 held at the Ghana Military Academy in Accra.
The initiative, according to him, aims to support military officers and service members in acquiring their own homes as a way of improving their welfare and long-term security. "We'll address the most pressing concerns of your troops, starting with the need for affordable housing.
We'll focus on constructing new housing units in the barracks while refurbishing dilapidated and abandoned military accommodations across the nation. "We believe that no service personnel should have to endure sub-standard living conditions.
