James Gyakye Quayson, Member of Parliament for Assin North, has described his recent acquittal as a form of vindication following a trial he believes was politically motivated.
His remarks came after the Accra High Court acquitted and discharged him on April 9, 2025, ending over three years of legal battles.
Quayson had been facing charges of forgery and perjury, stemming from allegations that he held Canadian citizenship when he filed to contest the 2020 parliamentary elections.
Speaking to journalists after the ruling, Quayson expressed relief and confidence that justice had been served. "When you know you are innocent, you have nothing to fear.
