A sub-chief and two others have been shot after gunmen stormed the palace at Poayamire, a community in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region, on the night of April 9, 2025.
The chief, Naba Atamburi, sustained gunshot wounds along with two family members.
They were rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, but one of the injured died en route.
While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, residents believe it is linked to the ongoing Bawku conflict.
