Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has cautioned the government against actions that could drag Ghana back onto international drug trafficking watchlists, warning that the country's hard-won reputation must not be compromised.

Speaking on Channel One Newsroom on Wednesday, April 9, Haruna reminded Ghanaians that it was under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's leadership in 2021 that Ghana was successfully removed from the global drug trafficking blacklist-a significant achievement in restoring the country's international image. "In 2021, Ghana was taken off the blacklist in terms of drug trafficking under the leadership of His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo," he stated. "Are we risking to go back there because we are not being sincere?" he questioned.

His remarks come amid growing concerns over alleged suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport, with Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev.

Ntim Fordjour, suggesting potential links to drug trafficking and money laundering.
