General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has condemned the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over the attempted arrest of Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South.

Officials of NIB on April 9, 2025, reportedly surrounded Rev.

Ntim Fordjour's residence at Spintex, seeking to detain him following his allegations of suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport potentially linked to drug trafficking and money laundering. Members of the Minority in Parliament, along with New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives, intervened at the scene, contending that the NIB operatives lacked an arrest warrant and were not adhering to due legal procedures.

Kodua Frimpong expressed the Minority's stance, emphasizing the necessity for lawful processes to be followed in such matters. This incident has sparked concerns regarding the potential intimidation of opposition figures who raise sensitive national issues.
