The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has denied media reports alleging that its officials provided false information to Rev.
John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member of Parliament's Defence and Interior Committee, regarding drug trafficking claims linked to two aircraft that landed at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
In a press statement dated April 8, 2025, GACL addressed these allegations, labeling them as baseless and misleading.
GACL clarified key details surrounding the situation: - Landing permits for all aircraft entering Ghana are issued by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in collaboration with National Security, not GACL. - Comprehensive security checks on the aircraft were carried out by Aviation Security and National Security, with Swissport handling ground services. - Investigations revealed no evidence of illegal substances on board either aircraft.
