Former Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Dr.
John Kingsley Krugu, has called for a shift in the national approach to illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey, suggesting it should be addressed as an economic issue rather than solely a criminal one.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom on Tuesday, April 8, Dr.
Krugu highlighted that many young people across Africa are driven to illegal mining due to limited employment opportunities.
