The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, is set to meet with Virginia Palmer, the United States Ambassador to Ghana, to discuss the 10% tariff imposed on Ghanaian exports by the Trump administration.
The meeting, scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, comes in response to concerns regarding the potential impact of the tariff on Ghana's trade.
Ablakwa and Palmer will engage in talks to address how the tariff affects Ghanaian businesses and explore ways to mitigate its impact on the country's economy.
Also in attendance will be key government officials, including the Deputy Minister of Trade and industry, who will be involved in discussions surrounding Ghana's export sector and potential strategies to manage the trade policy's challenges.
