Despite the importance of the Voters' register exhibition exercise, many centers across the country reported low numbers of registered voters turning out to verify their details. The exhibition exercise which ended on August 27, saw only a handful of voters trickling in at the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly. The low turnout has raised concerns about voter apathy and the implications for future elections. At the La Nkwantanang Cluster of schools, there were 10 exhibition areas and according to a Polling official at the centre, Cecil Fornyikpor, the low turnout of voters is significant as compared to previous years. "I have been a polling official for some years now and the turnout of voters to verify and update voter information were encouraging. However, this year's voter representation during the process has been on a downside," Cecil added.
