The People's National Convention (PNC) has completed the vetting of interested members for various party positions. The vetting was held on Thursday and Friday, setting the stage for the party's Congress on Saturday. All bar one were cleared to contest the primaries. Eugene Bashiru, who filed to contest the Vice Chairmanship position, was disqualified over failure to pay his filing fees, leaving Martin Anafo to contest unopposed. As a result, the qualified candidates for the various positions are David Apasera and Bernard Anbataayela Mornah for the flagbearer position, Hajia Hajara Haji Ali and Sampson Asaki Awingobit for the Chairmanship position, and Yakubu Fahrudeen and Awudulai Issahaque for General Secretary.
