The former Member of for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dickson Adomako Kissi, has attributed the loss of his parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections to the implementation of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy).
He explained that the 2021 physical altercation in over the E-Levy voting process created a rift between him and some NPP members.
This, he believes, contributed to the disaffection that ultimately led to his loss in the 2024 general elections, describing it as one of the unfortunate shortcomings of the former government. "Admittedly, the E-Levy specifically has been one of the unfortunate aspects of our administration, and I say this with both happiness and grief because it cost some of us our likability within the party when we literally fought against all these things.
It is one of the contributing factors to my losing my seat," he shared on Accra-based JoyPrime on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
