The Director-General of the Ghana National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has expressed optimism about a possible increase in allowances for National Service Personnel.   His statement comes in response to ongoing appeals from service personnel who have been calling for an upward adjustment in their stipends due to rising inflation and the increasing cost of living.Speaking on 3FM's Sunrise program on Wednesday, April 2, Mr.

Gyamfi confirmed that discussions on the matter are actively taking place at the highest level of government. "The current allowance (GHC715), I must say, is inadequate.

Discussions with the government are ongoing to adjust the GHC715 stipend to a more sustainable figure that can cushion our (Service Personnel) in these challenging times," he stated.

Additionally, he directed District Managers of the Authority to prioritize the welfare of service personnel, particularly regarding their security and living conditions. "District Managers should go back to getting accommodations for Service Personnel who are posted to their districts," he emphasized.Read Also: Gifty Oware Mensah Lands in Ghana Amid NSS Ghost Names Scandal Probe On the proposed short military training for National Service Personnel, a policy initiative introduced by former President John Mahama, Mr.
