Energy Minister John Abdulai Jinapor has issued a strong warning to institutions indebted to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), stating that their power supply will be disconnected if they fail to pay their outstanding bills.

Among the defaulters, he highlighted Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) as a major offender, revealing that the company has not made any payments towards its electricity consumption. "Ghana Water has not paid even one cedi, and I've written to the President," he stated, expressing his concern over the situation.

He further criticized Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) for their failure to fulfill their obligations. "A lot of the MMDAs are not paying.

You, an ordinary Ghanaian, are paying, so the MMDAs ought to pay.
