Professor Nana Ama Klutse, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), has called for a nationwide conversation and proactive measures to address Ghana's worsening flooding crisis.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom, Prof.
Klutse highlighted the alarming situation of floods in areas previously unaffected, attributing the trend to a combination of extreme rainfall and harmful human activities such as construction on waterways and wetlands. "We have experienced flooding in places we have never experienced flooding before, and that could be as a result of heavy rainfall or our own activities, including building on waterways or wetlands.
So, EPA's approach is to educate Ghanaians.
