The Western Regional Police Command has apprehended 11 individuals involved in illegal mining operations along the Bonsa riverbank in the Western Region.
The arrests, made on March 31, 2025, were the result of ongoing intelligence-driven operations targeting the destructive practice.
The suspects include seven Ghanaians and four Chinese nationals.
Among them, five individuals-Wei Qinwei, Yao Yongji, Nsoh Oto (alias Agologo), Kwadwo George (alias Sergio), and Emmanuel Van (alias Atta)-were detained at a mining site in Bonsa.
