The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has inaugurated an 11-member committee to oversee the transition from the double-track system to a single-track system in Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHSTS).

This initiative is part of the government's broader efforts to streamline the academic calendar and enhance the quality of secondary education.

Chaired by Prof.

Peter Grant of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the committee has been tasked with reviewing the 2024/2025 academic calendar, aligning the WASSCE schedule with other West African nations, and developing a roadmap to phase out the double-track system.
