The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced that it will start making payments to accredited healthcare providers across the country.
This development comes after the government lifted the spending cap on the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) during the presentation of the 2025 Budget.
According to Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, Chief Executive Officer of NHIA, the authority will ensure swift reimbursement of vetted claims on a regular basis, starting this week.
This move is in line with President John Dramani Mahama's campaign promise to strengthen the National Health Insurance Scheme.
