President John Dramani Mahama, in accordance with Article 243(1) and section 20(1) of the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 936) has nominated 72 persons for appointment as District Chief Executives across eight regions.
They are Volta 18, Oti, 9, Ahafo, 6, Bono, 10, Bono East, 9, Savannah, 5, North East 6 and Western North, 9.
The nominations pend the approval of the respective Assemblies, a statement signed and issued in Accra yesterday by the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, said.
In the Volta Region, 18 nominations have been made to Ho, Hohoe, Ketu South, Ketu North, Keta, Adaklu, Afadjato South, Agortime-Ziope, Akatsi North, Akatsi South, Anlo, Central Tongu, Ho West, North Tongu, South Dayi, and North Dayi districts with Kpando pending.
