Nana Adu Yaw Katakyie, the Chief of Dwen, a farming community in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region, has called on the government to intervene and provide the community with potable water.

He said the community also required similar assistance from wealthy individuals, corporate bodies, and philanthropic organizations for the construction of a basic school.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Dwen, near Dormaa-Ahenkro, the chief expressed concern that the area lacked basic necessities of life.

He also called on the government to create employment opportunities for the people to spur rapid socio-economic growth and development.
