The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver a judgment on an application seeking to overturn an interim injunction that was issued against the swearing-in of Ernest Kumi, the Member of for Akwatia on April 30, 2025.

The injunction filed by Ernest Kumi is praying the apex court to quash the injunction and prevent the High Court from proceeding with further hearings of the case, citinewsroom.com reported.

The lawmaker was barred by the Koforidua High Court from swearing himself in as a Member of on January 6, 2025, due to a dispute about the Akwatia parliamentary seat.

However, he defied the court order and participated in the ceremony, which led to him being cited for contempt by the court.
