The former Minister for Railways Development, , has reportedly been arrested by National Security in connection with the failed $2 million Sky Train project.
The purported arrest of the former Member of Parliament for the Hohoe Constituency comes amid ongoing investigations into the controversial deal, which was intended to introduce a modern urban rail transport system in Ghana but never materialised.
Reports indicate that the erstwhile Akufo-Addo government committed $2 million to the project, which has since been deemed unsuccessful.
Amewu, who played a significant role in overseeing the country's railway sector, is now facing scrutiny over his involvement in the agreement and the circumstances surrounding the financial commitments made under the deal.
