Zoe, Akyea & Co., the legal representatives of Kwabena Adu Boahene and Angela Adjei Boateng, have strongly criticized Attorney-General Dominic Akuritinga Ayine for allegedly violating their clients' fundamental human rights.

In a statement, the law firm condemned what they described as a "reset version of the rule of law" that has led to their clients being unfairly judged in the court of public opinion.

Samuel Atta Akyea, lead counsel for the accused, stated, "The Learned Attorney-General has been a distinguished lecturer of law, and we cannot fathom why he would use the power of the press rather than his advocacy at the Bar to feed the general public with prejudicial and skewed information." He accused the Attorney-General of publicly declaring his clients guilty before due process could take its course.

According to the statement, Kwabena Adu Boahene, a former Deputy Director of the National Signal Bureau, and his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, were unlawfully detained by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO). "Angela was arrested when she visited EOCO to check on her husband," the firm noted, criticizing what they deemed an abuse of power.
