Legal practitioner Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers has urged President John Dramani Mahama to launch a full-scale investigation into the operations of the School Feeding Programme under former President Nana Akufo-Addo's administration.
Speaking on 3News' KeyPoints, he alleged that the programme was riddled with corruption and mismanagement and warranted urgent scrutiny. "President Mahama has to investigate the operations of the School Feeding Programme under Akufo-Addo and prosecute anyone found to have engaged in or benefited from any underhand dealings there," Brako-Powers stated emphatically.
The School Feeding Programme, initially introduced to provide nutritious meals for schoolchildren and improve enrollment, has been plagued by numerous reports of irregularities.
Under Akufo-Addo's government, several suppliers and caterers accused officials of diverting funds, inflating contracts, and engaging in favouritism.
