Private legal practitioner Austin Kwabena Brako-Powers has launched a scathing critique of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing the party of attempting to shield corrupt officials from the previous Akufo-Addo administration.
He insists that President John Dramani Mahama must take decisive action to investigate and prosecute those involved in corruption, particularly within the School Feeding Programme. "We all know that President Akufo-Addo's government is the most corrupt regime Ghana has had since independence, and any attempt by the NPP to shield corrupt appointees in that government should be resisted at all costs in the public interest," Brako-Powers stated in an interview on 3News' KeyPoints.
He further noted that discontent within the NPP runs deep, as many members feel that critical internal issues have been ignored since the party's defeat in the 2024 elections. "Bottling up discontent and disagreements does not heal past wounds.
Many people in the NPP are hurting, not because the party suffered a major setback in 2024 but because serious issues require urgent attention.
