Dr Alex Ampaabeng, a former Deputy Minister of Finance, has agreed to the removal of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
He said this in an interview on Channel One TV during the Oxfam Tax Dialogue.
He explained that the removal of the E-Levy was in the right direction as the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in their manifesto, promised to scrap it. "It is a distortionary tax; I have no worries about the removal.
It will only create a gap, and how to fix it should be the agenda," he stated.
