Minister of Finance, Dr Mohammed Adam. The Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has disclosed that it will cost the government some $500 million to mitigate the food crisis that may result from the prevailing drought in northern Ghana. He announced that so far, government has secured $160 million to support farmers and ensure food security in the country. The Minister said this a press briefing in Accra on August 26. Ghana's agricultural sector is on the brink of a crisis as severe drought conditions endanger the livelihoods of over 928,000 farmers and jeopardize the nation's food security.
