Professor Alex Duodu, the Director General of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), has called on consumers to demand meters and measuring devices bearing the GSA's verified stamp to ensure accuracy and compliance with national standards.
The call comes amid growing concerns about the accuracy of meters used in critical sectors such as utilities and telecommunications, water and electricity service.
Unverified meters, he noted, can lead to overcharging, undercharging, or inaccurate billing, ultimately harming consumers and undermining trust in service providers.
