The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused the government of collaborating with the Koforidua High Court to target Ernest Yaw Kumi, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia.
His allegations follow the Interior Minister, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka's defense of attempts to arrest Kumi after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest on contempt charges.
Speaking to journalists, Afenyo-Markin criticised the actions of the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) and questioned the legality of their involvement.
He argued that the proper legal process was not followed, pointing out that court orders should be enforced by bailiffs assigned by the registrar, not by state security operatives.
