The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) on Tuesday provided working tools and financial support to 23 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to enhance their livelihoods.
Funded by the designated 3 per cent of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), the allocation aimed to empower PWDs economically, enhance their social inclusion, and improve their overall well-being.
The items included, a deep freezer, refrigerator, wheel chair, oven and cake mixer, barbering equipment, toiletries, cartons of chicken wings, sausage and red fish.
The rest were, 3 male goats, mobile money kits, a box of wax, bale of kaliko cloth, bale of men's jeans, baby clothes and bedsheets and provisions, all amounting to GH¢147,830.77 University of Ghana final year student and two final year students of University of Education, Winneba, were also supported with GH¢3, 174, GH¢5, 758 and GH¢5,758 totalling GH¢14, 690.
