Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commended President John Mahama and his government for including provisions in the 2025 budget to support victims of tidal waves.

Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Finance Minister presenting this year's budget in parliament on Tuesday March 11 noted that " We have also allocated an amount of GH¢200 million to support the victims of tidal wave disaster that recently displaced residents of Agavedzi and surrounding communities in the Ketu south constituency." Speaking on Channel One TV's The Big Issue on Saturday, Ahiagbah said "I commend the government and the president even though it took him a long time to come.

I was happy he came." He acknowledged the delay in the president's visit but expressed satisfaction with the eventual outcome. "If it was NPP, they will say, day one, they will say where is the president-they will be looking for the president with a microscope.

But it took him a very long time to come.
