The President of IMANI Africa has criticised President John Dramani Mahama over the dismissal of ex-Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr.

George Akuffo Dampare, describing the manner of his removal as lacking warmth and empathy.

According to Franklin Cudjoe, the official letter which announced Dr Dampare's dismissal failed to acknowledge his service or extend any goodwill messages for the future.

Read also: Appointing new IGP while injuction is pending is contempt of court - Kofi Bentil He compared the situation to the removal of former Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo by ex-President Nana Akufo-Addo, noting that although Mr Domelevo's dismissal was widely condemned, at least an explanation was given. "What concerned some of us was how the letter was written - it was really cold, without any sense of appreciation. "At the very least, it should have included a simple 'we wish you well in your future endeavours,' but that was missing," he said on Citi TV on Saturday, March 15.
