The Commercial Court in Tamale has granted bail to five of the six accused persons in a payroll fraud case, imposing strict conditions as the trial progresses, this is according to a statement released by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
The sixth accused was absent due to short service of court documents.
The individuals-Yakubu Tahidu, Abdulai Abukari Sadic, Sammy Suuk, Mohammed Yusif Jay, Stafford Korletey Azudey-Barres, and Osman Issahaku-according to the OSP pleaded not guilty to 17 counts of corruption and financial misconduct.
The charges stem from allegations that they were involved in fraudulent payroll activities, causing financial loss to the state.
