Finance Minister Dr.
Cassiel Ato Forson says Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) awarded contracts amounting to over GHS195 billion under the erstwhile New Patriotic Party government.
He said this was found out during an engagement with the MDAs on payables and arrears submitted to his ministry.
Dr Forson told Bernard Avle in an interview on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday that "We found out that the MDAs had awarded contracts in excess of GHS195 billion." "Then aside from that, the MDAs had generated certificates that are yet to be paid, and the certificates are in two kinds: those that have gone through the Ministry of Finance and been processed to the Controller and Accountant General, amounting to GHS18.2 billion. "Then another GHS49.6 billion were certificates that are yet to be processed to the Controller and Accountant General Department," said Dr.
