In a call to action, the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, met with Christian clerics in Accra to discuss the critical role they play in promoting peace and security and emphasized the need for a united front against any form of insecurity in the country.

He highlighted the alarming rate of chieftaincy disputes, vigilantism and land guard activities, citing 11 existing curfews across the country as of February 2025.

He stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of the conflicts and promoting social cohesion.

The Minister outlined a three-pronged approach such as community-based initiatives to foster peace and social cohesion, collaborative programmes to tackle the underlying causes of conflicts and enhanced collective response to emerging security threats.
