A private legal practitioner, Austin Kwbena Brako-Powers, has advised the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to revise its script as an opposition party.
He said the NPP should not be seen or heard criticising every action of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). "Providing a useful opposition goes beyond mundane criticism and the NPP must redefine its role in opposition," he said.
The lawyer was reacting to criticisms leveled against the 2025 Budget the Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Forson, presented to Parliament on March 11, 2025.
Commenting on the 2025 Budget, former Finance Minister, Dr Amin Adam, said the erstwhile NPP government did not implement the betting tax, despite passing it into law.
