After promptings from JoyNews, the Forestry Commission has apprehended a group that continued mining in the Tano Anwia Forest Reserve in the Western Region.

The group had evaded a recent military and Rapid Response raid on illegal mining camps in the forest and persisted in their activities.

In total, three Chinese miners operating excavators and eight Ghanaians were arrested.

They have since been handed over to the Enchi District Police.
