The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has condemned the rising rate of killings targeted at Mobile Money operators across the country by armed robbers.

Speaking in an exclusive phone interview with 's Mandy Agyemang on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the General Secretary of MMAAG, Evans Otumfuo, disclosed that recorded attacks on Mobile Money vendors have instilled fear among them, causing potential investors to shy away from the business. "It is creating fear within the rank and file of the MoMo agents and potential individuals who want to venture into the business," he said.

Highlighting the disturbing incidents, he said that approximately seven fatalities involving Mobile Money operators have been alarmingly recorded, with no action taken thus far. "From January to mid-March, we have recorded over 7 fatalities.

Others have found themselves in the hospital responding to treatment.
