The government has announced the uncapping of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and allocated substantial resources to various educational initiatives in the 2025 budget.
Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson detailed the allocations during his budget presentation in Parliament, emphasising the government's commitment to improving access to quality education. "Mr.
Speaker, an amount of GH¢499.8 million has been allocated for the No-Academic-Fee policy for all first-year students in public tertiary institutions under the 'No-Fees-Stress' initiative," Dr.
Forson announced.
