A Chinese firm, Wangkang Ceramics Company Limited, located in Eshiem, Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis, Western Region, has been issued a one-week ultimatum to cease illegal activities polluting River Anankore in Inchaban.
The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, issued the ultimatum after Earnest Hoffman, an officer from the Water Resources Commission (WRC) at Ghana Water Company Limited, briefed him on the company's violations despite prior warnings.
The company has been instructed to cease activities that are obstructing the flow and purity of River Anankore, which supplies water to Ghana Water Company Limited.
The Ghana Water Company Limited had previously reported the Chinese firm to the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) due to its refusal to comply with its directives and the Water Resources Commission.
