Akomane Yeboah, Convenor of the Coalition for Youth Development in Okyeman, has expressed confidence that Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, will take swift action to address concerns over alleged remarks labeling JB Danquah as a traitor and a CIA operative.
This comes following the group's petition to the Speaker of Parliament over the alleged derogatory remark against JB Danquah.
During parliamentary proceedings, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed had allegedly labeled JB Danquah as a member of the CIA and a traitor to the nation.
In an interview on Channel One Newsroom, Yeboah expressed hope that the Speaker will ensure that Murtala Muhammed retracts his statement and apologise. "We believe Parliament will deal with this matter appropriately because we cannot allow people who make laws for us, people that children aspire to be like in future, to make such comments in Parliament.
