A political dispute has erupted within the (NDC) in the Kintampo South Constituency of the Bono East Region, as at least 16 assemblymen have petitioned the party's leadership to take action against Regional Chairman Unas Owusu and three other executives.
According to myjoyonline.com report, the assemblymen accuse Unas Owusu and the constituency executives of orchestrating the kidnapping, brutal assault, and torture of a party member, Alfred Agandaah Atewene, also known as Tutu, on February 19, 2025.
According to the petitioners, Tutu's only offense was questioning an unexplained disappearance of 200 bags of rice, allegedly part of 600 bags seized from former Member of Parliament Alex Gyan.
The accused constituency executives include Robert Sakyi (Slimmer), Chairman, Wilfred Zuuri, Secretary, and Atanga Matthew, Communication Officer.
