He emphasised that sitting in the Speaker's seat is not a trivial matter and should be treated with the utmost respect.

According to Speaker Bagbin, the responsibilities and stature associated with the Speaker's chair are not the same as those of other members of Parliament.

He urged MPs to revisit the Constitution to better understand the role and duties of the Speaker. "This is not something within your discretion or powers; it falls under the jurisdiction of the presiding officer, particularly the Speaker.
