The government has indicated its readiness to revive the Onuador mobile healthcare vans to provide Out Patient Department, ophthalmology, dental, ear nose throat, and cancer screening care in remote and vulnerable communities.

An earlier attempt to provide mobile healthcare facilities was abandoned after the change of government in 2017.

To this end, the government is working with the National Health Insurance Authority to revive it. "Mr Speaker, public health experts are grappling with the conundrum of new diseases and the re-emergence of old diseases.

The unpredictable nature of disease outbreaks suggests we must make our health system resilient to shocks," President Mahama disclosed in his SONA on Thursday.  BY TIMES REPORTER
