A new report on gender representation in Ghana's media has revealed that only 14% of experts interviewed in 2024 were women, with some media houses recording as low as 3% female expert representation.

The Women Experts in Ghanaian Media report for 2024 also found that women make up just 24% of presenters, and that male presenters continue to receive significantly more airtime than their female counterparts.

These findings will be the focus of a major conference set to take place in Accra on March 4, 2025.

The event, organized by the Ghana Women Experts Project with support from the British Academy and City St George's University of London, will bring together policymakers, journalists, and civil society groups to explore solutions for closing the gender gap in media coverage.
